Quest for the perfect coffee - Guatemala San Antonio Huista

Coffee Direct Trade

Our Quest for the perfect coffee takes us this month to Guatemala where some of the worlds best coffee is produced. The San Antonio Huista coffee is coming from the Huehuetenango region in the western highlands of Guatemala, close to the Mexican border.

Farmers in San Antonio Huista

This San Antonio Huista coffee is produced by ADIESTO cooperative, a nonprofit organization representing over 100 producers of cetified organic and conventional coffees. ADIESTO carries out technical assistance, provides microcredits, and strengthens the organization of business operations managment for the producers.

The farms of the small coffee producers are located in the mountainous area of the Huista region in Huehuetenango. Due to the altitude, between 950 and 1,800 meters above sea level, they produce parchment coffee with special SHB quality characteristics.
