The Watertower Decaf is a water-processed decaffeinated coffee from Brazil. It comes from small farms in small coffee communities in the Mogiana Region of Brazil.

During the water decaffeination process, the green coffee is hydrated to expand the beans for caffeine extraction. The hydrated green coffee is then introduced to Green Coffee Extract (GCE), a unique solution of concentrated coffee solubles that allows the caffeine to leave the green coffee via osmosis while minimizing the loss of desired flavor compounds. Once the caffeine has been removed the green coffee is re-dried and re-bagged for transport to our roastery, and the GCE is filtered of its caffeine through proprietary carbon filters and recycled to be used again.

The Cup: This coffee is an amazing water-process decaffeinated coffee from Brazil. In this balanced coffee, the flavors of chocolate and almons are combined with the slight tartness of green apples. The coffee is just as amazing as its non-decaffeinated cousins.

Good but not great. Not as full bodies as the best Swiss Water Decaf out there.

Great company but boring decaf

Big chocolate taste but not a big coffee taste. I’m new to needing decaf only, and trying to find bold flavor and decaf is hard. I do like that this is water processed, but it doesn’t have any more flavor than a $6 bag at the grocery store.
